Trust can be earned, but it it is also quickly lost. I like a lot of teams, but very few I trust to be the team they are supposed to be.
Ole Miss
Ole Miss has a lot of talent and is capable or winning a lot of games, but we are over halfway through the regular season and what has Ole Miss proven? The Rebels’ best win is over 3-3 South Carolina who has been doing a Jekyle and Hyde Impression this season.
Outside of that every serious test they have faced has resulted in a loss. I can excuse the loss to LSU, Tiger stadium isn’t exactly and easy place to escape. Even with the mulligan, there is still that Kentucky loss at home on the resume.
We have seen Ole Miss slip up now twice against either inferior or equal competition. I will need to see Ole Miss hold serve a few more times to see how good this team really is.
USC
The win over LSU is carrying a lot of weight right now for the Trojans. When USC is humming they are a dangerous team, but we have seen now that the puzzle of cracking Lincoln Riley isn’t impossible.
Michigan was able to beat them with just 32 passing yard. Minnesota ran QB sneaks all over them. Then they blew a halftime lead to Penn State.
You can tell USC want’s to be good and they have the pieces to do it. They just have been able to use their tools properly since week 1.
Miami
Hard to critique a team that’s undefeated, but the path to perfect for Miami has been a rollercoaster. Some weeks they are routing Florida and look like a juggernaut, and other times they are lucky to get out alive.
Between the hail mary against Virginia Tech and the fourth quarter comeback against Cal this team has been playing hopscotch with the win probability chart lately.
The floor for Miami is probably double digit wins and trip to the ACC title game, but a loss is coming soon. The best teams handle business week in and week out, and Miami has not done that consistently.
