College Football Week 7 Picks

Last Week 1-4-1

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert. I’m just a fan who likes to watch football and gamble on games. No one is actually good at this. Bet responsibly.

Minnesota -6.5

Minnesota is coming off of a tough loss in their last game to Purdue. Going into that one Minnesota was the clear Big Ten West Favorite, and in typical PJ Fleck fashion, they let it slip away. Despite this loss, Minnesota is still a strong team. They have had extra time to prepare for an Illinois team that isn’t necessarily bad, but a little overvalued. Illinois’ home-field advantage isn’t anything special either.

TCU -4

The Big 12 is a total mess this fall and the only two teams with consistency face off Saturday. I’m going to stick with the home team in this one. Both teams are solid and will have successful seasons beyond this game. TCU’s offense seems to be getting better each week, and it’s not something I want to go against. This line screams TCU.

Syracuse -3.5

There’s just something strange with Syracuse that is working well for them this year and I don’t want to get in the way. The defense is playing well, and the QB makes plays with his feet. With that being considered I do think the advantage will be with the Orange against NCST. NCST had a tough game last week against Florida State and now has to travel up to New York to a tough environment. Syracuse is well-rested and ready for this game.

Florida State +3.5

It feels like once a year we get one of these crazy games in Tallahassee at night. Flordia State always plays a team that’s better than them on paper, but we look up at the scoreboard and it’s a 3-point game with two minutes left in regulation. This feels like that game this season. Clemson should be a much bigger favorite being as highly rated as they are, but their not. The Noles are the only team you can pick in this one. If they lose you can go to bed Saturday night knowing you made the right play no matter what.

Utah -3.5

I’m aware that USC has the best team they have had in a decade, but something about them doesn’t seem right yet. USC has been letting inferior opponents like Oregon State and Arizona State hang around for too long and has been able to escape. Utah is a much better, more physical team, than those two and will capitalize on that if USC does it again. Especially in a tough, high-altitude environment like Utah. Utah is going to be extra desperate to win as well after losing on the road last week.
